COBB CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IMPROVED THEIR BOTTOM LINE BY GOING GREEN

Lighting Technologies (LT) has been an active member of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce (CCCOC) for the last several years. Because some of these events were hosted at the Chamber, LT noticed the facility was equipped with outdated, inefficient T12 fluorescent lamps. An impromptu lunch meeting presented an opportunity for Bill Shank, President of Lighting Technologies, to speak to the CCCOC President, Don Beaver, about lighting improvements that could reduce the building’s lighting costs by half. Always on the lookout for ways to reduce operating expenses, Mr. Beaver immediately requested a proposal.

After surveying the Chamber’s facilities, Lighting Technologies delivered a firm, fixed-price proposal that would reduce the facility’s annual lighting costs by more than 70%, with a payback of less than 2 years. As a nonprofit organization, the CCCOC did not qualify for any government incentives, which meant this payback would be exceptional for them. Mr. Beaver gave careful consideration to the benefits outlined in the proposal and subsequently gave the green light for LT to work their magic.

To minimize disruption to the Chamber, Lighting Technologies’ team completed their retrofit during a weekend. All work was completed on time, and the team went above and beyond to correct wiring issues they’d found in the facility’s main conference room. The CCCOC Vice President of Human Resources and Finance, Ms. Cindy Miller, expressed her delight with LTs’ team, “The professionalism of your staff was outstanding. I can’t believe how smoothly the project went!”

Not only did Lighting Technologies work to reduce the Chamber’s lighting costs, their retrofit improved the overall appearance of the premise’s lighting. Mr. Beaver put it best, “We love our new lights!”

Lighting Technologies is a proud member of the Cobb Chamber and continues to be impressed with the programs that are designed to enhance the quality of life for Cobb’s citizens and business community.
